Maintenance of Buildings with Wooden Siding
In order to better protect your investment, we recommend to stain or paint your wooden building.
Staining: If natural look of the wood is preferred, a clear sealer may be used within one (1) year of construction. If color is preferred, we recommend to use two coats of good quality solid stain instead of the paint, since the stain will penetrate deeper in to the wood and will be easier to reapply in the future.
Painting: If paint is a preference, we recommend to apply a good quality primer and a good quality exterior paint. You can also buy a good quality "self-priming" paint to paint your barn with. For best results, we recommend to have between 3-5 days of nice and dry weather before painting your barn. For a longer paint life, dry seasons are preferred, when siding holds very little moisture.
